DARIAH-EU is carrying out its Friday Frontiers Autumn 2024 series and KT4D is part of it! These sessions are a platform for researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders in digital humanities to exchange insights, discuss best practices, and explore tools and methods.

KT4D will lead the Friday December 6th episode with a webinar entitled “When Applied and Critical Digital Humanities Meets Democracy: The KT4D Project”. It will take place at 10:30 am WET / 11:30 am CET / 12:30 pm EET. This session, led by Prof. Jennifer Edmond and Dr. Eleonora Lima of Trinity College Dublin, dives into the intersection of technology, democracy, and digital humanities.

What to Expect:

The discussion will highlight KT4D’s innovative approach to using AI and Big Data to enhance democratic processes and civic participation. It will explain how the project integrates humanistic knowledge and values to empower communities, improve trust in institutions, and navigate the ethical, legal, and cultural complexities of these technologies. Our two wonderful speakers from Trinity College Dublin - Prof. Jennifer Edmond and Dr. Eleonora Lima - will present the project’s unique methodology in recognizing the need for political and social considerations in addressing complex global issues. This webinar will be an opportunity to see how KT4D is reshaping the future of civic engagement in an increasingly technological world, offering new insights into the role of digital humanities in shaping democratic practices.

- Prof. Jennifer Edmond: Distinguished Professor in Digital Humanities at Trinity College Dublin, Prof. Edmond is a leader in interdisciplinary research with a strong focus on critical digital humanities and public impact.

- Dr. Eleonora Lima: Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin, Dr. Lima explores the cultural dimensions of AI and big data, drawing from her expertise in the cultural history of technology and literature.
