V1.0, 16.02.2024 - This Data Protection Notice explains the policy of Knowledge Technologies for Democracy (“KT4D”, “we”, “us”) regarding your privacy, as well as how your personal data will be handled, in accordance with the data protection principles under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in the context of your participation in our events which includes webinars.
When you participate in an event we organize, we may collect and process information related to you as an individual (your Personal Data). This includes:
- Information which you provide in event registration forms (such as such as your first name, last name, e-mail address, and profession description e.g., academia.);
- Photographs or screenshots and video recordings taken at events or webinars, in which you may be captured;
- Information which you include in presentations which you may give at events.
We may use these Personal Data:
- To organize and coordinate events, including to allow your participation in events for which you have signed up (Event Management);
- To contact you with further news, updates and developments concerning our events which you have attended, and to keep you updated on future events in which you may be interested (Event Follow-up);
- To publicly promote our work and raise awareness on topics discussed / presented at our events through different media channels (Event Promotion).
Where strictly necessary for the above purposes, and in compliance with the data protection principles, we may share your Personal Data with the Consortium Partners, with third parties engaged to assist in the organisation and coordination of events, and/or with other event participants.
You are generally entitled to access and rectify any of your Personal Data which we collect and handle. You are also generally entitled to refuse to consent to the use of your Personal Data for Event Follow-up and/or Event Promotion, as well as to the disclosure of your Personal Data to third parties. You can also withdraw any consent which you may have given to us.
We will typically retain your Personal Data until it is no longer necessary for the above purposes to be met, or until you withdraw your consent (where applicable).
